Quick Alternate School Question

Just to make sure... If you are applying to say, CAS as your primary school and CALS as your alternate, the CAS evaluators will NOT see your essay for CALS right?

False. Both colleges have access to your full file.

Hmm…

My primary choice was CALS, so I wrote my essay on why I wanted to become a biologist, but since I was choosing biology for CAS as well, I just reused the same essay. The prompt for CAS was basically the same as for CALS, but with a sort of “Why Cornell” prompt integrated into it. My CALS essay didn’t address this, so do you think admissions officers considering me for CALS will be concerned?

I reasoned that if I got rejected for biology at CALS, I’d probably be rejected at CAS as well, which is why I didn’t rewrite my essay. (It had a lot of things going on so I doubt I could’ve pulled it off and written as well as my original.)

quick bump.

doesn’t really matter, but I’d still like to hear what you guys think haha. (And yes, I should’ve just written another essay, or tried to.)

I’m thinking about doing the same thing actually…

let’s see how this goes.
