I qualified for AP English at my high school, but I'm not sure whether I should take it or take Honors English? I know that colleges tend to look better on AP classes, but HOW much better o they look better on AP classes? I'm already taking 2 Honors courses, and an extra class, and I don't want to take on way too much.

sophomore/freshman: Don’t worry about it
Junior: If this is your only AP, then go ahead
Senior: You should at least take 1 AP english

APs look better, as they see how rigorous courses you’re taking, compared to what’s offered. If it doesn’t look like you’re trying to push yourself from your transcript, then their opinion will go down. I took 7 AP classes last year, and I did fine, passed all the exams with a 4 or 5. And the English tests got me out of quite a few general ed courses ;D

If you’ve already got a few APs under your belt and are planning on taking more, then it’s probably okay to skip it this time. But I’d recommend taking it anyways. It’ll not only help your application, but also your writing skills.
