Quick class help!!

Hey guys I'm trying to figure out what classes to change for this upcoming fall. I was an Agriculture major at my former school so I really haven't started any required classes for medical school yet except one semester of Biology. I'll be a Sophomore this fall.

Right now I'm enrolled in a MicroBiology111, however I'm thinking this might not count as another sem with general Bio at all schools. Since the MCAT will be coming up fast would it be smarter to take Chem plus Lab this year and Physics and Organic next year. It seems like Im going to be taking the MCAT before I finish the required classes, so are there any specific ones that would be to my advantage to take before the test.

(I need to take Inorganic, Organic and Physics and a semester of Bio Still)

I read that some kids choose to take the April MCAT while finishing the required classes. I would possibly want to shoot for this. I read there is an August test as well if I were not. Are there any other times this test is given other than April and August?

More advanced courses are always fine, so Micro will count assuming it has a lab. It's better, of course, to take the MCAT after you've taken all the required courses. You're right that Micro's not a particularly helpful one. If you have four semesters until the MCAT, that's chemistry every semester plus one more science class -- or more if you think you can handle it.

And the information that you were reading about the MCAT is out of date. Now that the test is computerized, they give the test many times each year. You can still take the test in April, but you can also take it at other times throughout the summer.

Thanks guys. Yeah my Micro does not have a Lab so I think Im gonna change it with Inorganic. Then try to do Organic and Physics Junior at least thats what the Miami Pre-Med advisors recommended.
