I have been so busy applying at non-common app schools, that I haven't had a chance to start the common app and probably won't for a month. How long does it take to complete on average? How long will supplements take? Would I be able to finish the Common App from start to finish if I devoted an entire Sunday to it? thanks!

Get the recommendation forms out to your teachers and guidance counselor ASAP.

The Common App essay and the essays on each supplement (if required) are likely to be variations of what you have written already.

Some schools though ask why you are applying to their school. That takes a little thought.

If you can cut an paste, it shouldn’t take you longer than an afternoon for the common app itself. Supplements may take a little longer, depending upon how many.

Go to the Common App, and print out the PDF. Then you can judge how long it will take you.

The common app basically is a whole bunch of info about yourself same as the supplements what takes the longest are the essays. For the common app there is one that’s 500 words max and a short one that’s 1000 characters max. The supplement depends on the school you are applying to but usually it also includes an essay.

Alright thanks. Two teachers are already writing recommendations and I know what I’m going to write about for my essay. Do you mean copy and paste stuff from one of the apps I have already done? Thought the common app would have different questions and stuff than a state school
