Quick grammar question

My friend and I or My friend and me

how do you determine those?

both of those are for different uses in the sentence.

My friend and I were beaten up by the bully.
The bully beat up my friend and me.

At beginning of sentence, My friend and I.

And it depends on context too.

Easy. Take out "my friend" and read the sentence without it. That should tell your ear immediately whether "I" or "me" is correct.

Example:
My friend and me went to the store.
Me went to the store.

You know the second is wrong, so the correct response must be "My friend and I".

(Oh, one more thing: it is always "between you and me." No matter how many times people say "between you and I", that is always wrong.)
