I was just reviewing my present list of possible colleges. And so far, I realize that I don't have enough safety or high match schools.

Potential Interests: Premed, biology

I quickly typed this up cause it hit me while doing an essay for AP Lit haha

Pitt 10char

Wisconsin, Boston University, Washington, Baylor and Suny Stony Brook are some to possibly check into.

what schools are currently on your list?

Also, what are you interested in studying?

What is your home state? Do you need FA?

If you are in the northeast, Lafayette College, Bucknell, Holy Cross, Boston College, Colgate, Hamilton, Johns Hopkins, Swarthmore, Gettysburg and Penn.

there is NO WAY that JHU is a safety school for someone with a 2030 and average ECs…

There are probably hundreds of schools that would love to admit you, all of which can handle premed. Location? Size? Greek? Financial aid?

When you have more time, fill us in.

Ditto Swarthmore and the University of Pennsylvania (“Penn”).
They are not high match schools, either. They are reaches.

my home state is CT, so uconn is my safety school. The location doesnt have make much of a difference, i cud go east coast or west coast. I’d prefer a larger school, but small schools are acceptable too. my parents are divorced, and my mom doesnt make a large income either <60,000 probably.

hopefully, i can get my SATs higher 2100+ or get the ACTs around 33 (i need to study harder this time)

And I have a few other extracurriculars and miscellaneous stuff (st. mary’s hospital lab assitant and st. vincent’s hospital/college public health program, and I’m also doing an externship with the city’s public health)

fordham, villanova (high match), trinity in hartford

out of curiosity, what school do you go to? i noticed st. v’s on your ec’s

Holy Cross, Tufts.

For matches or high matches: Trinity (may be too small for you), Rochester, Brandeis, GW, Michigan, Wisconsin and BU.

For safeties: Vermont (I wonder if you will get financial aid as Vietnamese American)

As an OOS student UVt will offer no FA.

The schools on my list were intended to be high matches/reach, not safeties. I should have specified. I was trying to jumpstart the thought process, since very few parameters were given. Penn is obviously a reach, but URM status may apply. Connecticut College should be a solid match, and it has biology and biochemistry.

The daughter of our friend got into Vermont will full scholarship as a OOS minority student. That is why I ask the question. If Vermont gives scholarship for diversification purpose, perhaps Vietnamese American will qualify too.

Again I am not expert. Dudely123 can apply to see if he gets any money. If he doesn’t, he has other choice. This is just my humble opinion.

thanks for the suggestions everyone

I’m looking at BU and northeastern possibly, could i consider them safety?

With your stats, I think Northeastern is a safety. We visited this Spring and the Admissions rep said my son was an admit with a 680/630 V/M on SAT (for music production). Your major may be more selective, but I still think you definitely in @ NEU. She also said he’d get much more aid with a 50 point SAT bump.
