It is the Lattimore translation, but the alumni association buys copies for the incoming class every year. If you go to one of the planning sessions in the summer, you'll get yours then; if you don't, it will be mailed to you over the summer. Don't sweat it, it's only the first six books of the Iliad to read before the first class; it shouldn't take more than a few hours even if you read as slowly as I do.

I guess Columbia 2002 is not on the party list. The local associations have cool parties.nWe have been invited to meet many important graduates. We are invited to about four parties every year. Maybe Columbia 2002 just had her invitations lost in the mail. I've been going with my brother for a long time and have met lots of alums and students. Some of the parties are on pretty nice boats, nice restaurants, nice homes. It's a trip. I have to watch my grammar because Columbia 2002's evil twin is flaming me for forgetting a question mark.

Haha. Actually, there are general alumni stuff ... and then there's stuff through the Club (CUCNY), which you have to pay money to join. I'm still on the Club's emailing list and all their events are open to non-member alumni.
