Quick look at Chances

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me a really quick look and rate my chances at HYP, Williams, Amherst, Brown, or Duke. This is not going to be a "read my entire friggin resume" thread, just a brief look. I'm white and upper middle class, with no real connections at those schools. Private school, competetive.

SATs: 2390 (800 CR, 790 M, 800 W)
SATIIs: 800 W, 800 Math 2, 790 Lit, 770 US Hist.
APs: US Hist, Spanish Lang, English Lit, Calculus AB, all 5s

GPA: 4.09 (weighted)
Decile Rank (only given): second decile (will that kill me is what I really want to know - the stats at Harvard, Princeton and even Williams suggests that without a hook getting in and not in top 10% is nearly impossible)

ECs:
Varried, many very unique, I won't bother listing all of them, just know that they're strong in both the traditional and non-traditional sense

A few awards, National Merit Semi-finalist, etc.

My essay should be good - its heartfelt and not just "what I want adcoms to hear," and very uniquely me.

Thanks to all who reply!

Anyone? Sorry to bump or be whiney...I can't figure out if that second decile GPA will kill me, how big is it at the top top tier?

very nice SAT score. wats ur UW GPA?

School doesn't calculate UW GPA, though I assume it would be around a 3.8 or 3.9. I also take offbeat courses that are standard at my school; it's technically not private but parochial, and so I take courses in various religous subjects as well that are factored into GPA. I don't know whether a college will take out those courses.

I just don't know how the "second decile" hurts me - depending on who you ask, it kills chances or doesn't make much of a difference in private schools.

what state are you from? If you're ranked in the second decile with a 3.9, then people at your school must be smart...
But congrats on the great SAT score!

It's a parochial school in NJ. I don't think it has to do with smartness as much as obsessive compulsive work disorder - 6 girls (yes, all girls) who do nothing but work, and work, and work. Grade inflation is also a problem...my test scores distinguish me, but statistics wise, what impact will second 10% have?

HYP -- reach
BAW -- slight reach
D -- match

Is there any reason for that advice? I've been told all my schools are basically slight reaches (they're all on that level), and applying early I could probably get in where I wanted, accept at Harvard where I have a much lower chance.

Will that second decile burn? Or does it not matter for private schools with grades of 66 kids?

im sure that youll get in wherever you apply, apparently you are a pretty damn smart student with test scores like that, and admissions will take that into account when viewing your rank.
