Quick math question

y=4x-9

An equation of a line in the xy-plane is given above. What is the x-coordinate of the point on the line for which the y-coordinate is 1 greater than the x-coordinate? Thanks :-P

tried to use my calculator but that didn't help much lol

(x+1)=4x-9
-3x=-10
x=10/3

Check:
y=(40/3)-9
y=13/3

Wow, can’t believe it was that easy I didn’t think to change the y to an x value. :-(

thanks a lot.
