OKAY.. now here's the deal.. I'm looking for some NY colleges that I would fit well into.. i used to live there but now i live in CA and im hoping to move back.

Im looking into private schools, planning on a communications major, i want to stay away from math and science, something close to the city (an hour or two away from it is fine), something that isn't like a "small school" (meaning i want a school that is pretty well known), a liberal arts college is fine, and i need to live on campus.

now im hoping that MANY of you have suggestions for me and can also gimme a quick description of the school.

The obvious answer is Syracuse, but you probably knew that. It's private, and it has one of the best communications programs in the country if not the world. A lot of famous journalists and anchormen went to SU. Good sports too.

The State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany would also be a good choice, it's probably a match/safety and it has a March deadline, so you shouldn't have any problems fielding an application for there. Come to think of it, you might have missed Syracuse's deadline... :( Sorry I can't help more.

Also look into Drew U. in NJ --it's an easy commuter train trip away from Penn Station (35 min-50 min.) New York--with pretty suburban campus. Yes, Emerson is great for communications and Boston is a pretty good runner up to NYC. An alternative to Syracuse-- on a small scale --is Ithaca College, also good for communications--near -Cornell but 4/5 hours from the City.
