Quick Placement Question

I have a quick question regarding placement for incoming freshman for English. On the main website <a href="http://www.admissions.unc.edu/academics/placement.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.admissions.unc.edu/academics/placement.htm</a> , it says 690 and above on the writing will be accepted as exempt, but on another website <a href="http://admissions.unc.edu/faq/placementexams.htm%5B/url%5D">http://admissions.unc.edu/faq/placementexams.htm</a> it says 680 and above for test occurring after March 2005. Could you please clarify which is correct?

Thanks

Unless I'm reading incorrectly, it looks like on both links, a 690 (and above) makes you exempt from both English 101 and 102--receiving credit for both. A 680 (660-680) makes you exempt from English 101 (receiving credit for), but would place you into English 102. That's how I'm reading both links. Did I miss something?

If you look at the charts, the first link says

690 and above-Exempt, credit for English 101 and 102

The second link says

690 and above-Exempt, credit for English 101 and 102

Maybe I am just reading it wrong....

Right. They both say the same thing, so what is your question? 690 and above places you out of English 101 and 102 (credit for both). 660-680 places you out of 101, but places you into 102. Both links seem to say the same thing, no?

Oops, i meant to say 680 on the second one. But I emailed the admission office and they said they just havent updated it yet.

Thanks for the help anyways though.

Okay, well, we must be looking at 2 different things anyway, because in the links you provided, it looks like they give the same information. Anyway . . .
