Which cell phone company (At&t, T-Mobile, or Verizon) works well up at Dartmouth? Please feel free to share your thoughts on any of them. fyi... i am going to be a '13 next year. Thanks!

Never had a problem with Verizion

att and verizon are solid, i have a friend who got kicked of tmobile because he was always “roaming” in Hanover …

Verizon was great - got kicked off Cingular (AT&T) a few years back but that could be better now - not according to the coverage map though.

never had a problem with any cell phone

Unicel/Verizon has never been a problem for me… full bars :)

they’re all fine now, you won’t have problems

Can anyone else confirm vincere’s assertion? Hhaha, sorry vincere. But I have t-mobile, and I’m actually kind of worried from what I’ve heard. Seriously considering changing plans. Can anyone with t-mobile comment on their service?

AT&T did not work particularly well inside my dorm (East Wheelock). Zooming in on the service map, it looks like service goes from “best” to “good” around the location of EW; the rest of the campus appears to be solidly within the “best” zone. Maybe the poor service in my room had to do with the fact that I was in a brick building (though on the 3rd floor). It seemed to work fine on the rest of campus with the exception of basements.

most dorms have spotty service for all networks, not really a huge surprise

Buffalowizard - you report the same problem D experienced - when living off campus in one direction - no service, in another, only by standing by one window. In any event, because of the % of calls which were made by extended network, AT&T eventually dropped that line.
