Quick Q - First year internship

<p>I'm a high school senior ATM, and I'll be heading to Berkeley for EECS in the fall. Do most pre-meds get summer internships their first year?</p>

<p>I was guaranteed a spot back home in Oregon at a primate center to do some MRI analysis that involves programming. Is that at all relevant/desirable for heading down the med track, or are internships at hospital much better/easily obtained?</p>

<p>You are certainly expected to do something with your summer, and you are certainly expected to at some point spend time in a patient care setting.</p>

<p>How you arrange those is up to you.</p>
