Hello,

So I just signed up for classes the other day and one of the classes that I signed up for did not have an instructor assigned to it; it simply says STAFF. What exactly does that mean?

So I just signed up for classes the other day and one of the classes that I signed up for did not have an instructor assigned to it; it simply says STAFF. What exactly does that mean?

It means your instructor for that course is a temporary teacher (either a student, graduate student, or visiting professor). Usually a graduate student. It won’t be updated on websoc.

maybe. it could be that the department in question just hasn’t decided who is going to be teaching the class.

Jaganshi is right.
Usually STAFF indicates there is a grad student teaching the class and assignments haven’t been made yet. This happens often for fall quarter.
