Quick question about applying to UP

If I apply as an engineer to UP but don't get into the engineering school, am I rejected from the school as a whole?

You will be admitted to a branch campus, or put into summer. Depends what you selected on your application.

If they can’t place you in your intended major, I believe they will come back and ask you to either change your major or change your campus. They don’t just reject you completely, unless you refuse to do either of the above.

They do not come back and ask you for an alternative.

If you are worried about getting accepted, and you know you want to major in engineering you should put engineering as your first choice and DUS as your second choice. This way, if you don’t get into engineering you will still get the best chance at UP and you can still take the engineering pre reqs and make the entry into major with everyone selected directly for engineering.

The other things you can do to help you chances are indicating a willingness for summer session and indicating branch campuses where you would be willing to start.
