I was checking out assist.org for my class next semester and then saw this under one of the classes.

" o 100M,101, CNIT 100 and MABS 60 combined: maximum credit, one course "

I've already taken cnit100 and mabs60 and was signed up for CS101. Anyways no one ever told me I would only recieve credit towards one course. I never though much of it as they were all different courses. But my questions is even though the credit doesn't transfer will they grade still be calculated into my gpa when I apply?

yes the grade will be calculated into your overall GPA of transferable courses.

You do not get unit credit, it still is acknowledged that you took the course, you just only get 3 or 4 or 6 or whatever number of units for it.

Hey fellas, sorry about the bump but I figured it’s better than making a new topic.

I’m going through all of my coursework so I can start on my applications, and I found something that confused me for a 2-class sequence I took in the past. The classes are History 109 + History 110 (US History I & II). They both have the little asterisks on ASSIST, and the description in my college’s catalog says:

Up to now, I made no distinction between “course” and “series”. So in my calculations, I always gave myself 3 units for those two classes, rather than 6. Does anyone know what they mean by series? I want it to mean I still get 6 units for a series.

A series is just a set of subsequent classes. You will receive 6 units for 109 and 110. However, if you were to additionally take for example 141 and 142, you wouldn’t receive additional units towards whatever it is you posted about.
