<p>if i found a previous college admissions essay online, and liked some of the ideas on it and wanted to use some of them in my own essay, would that be a big deal? </p>

<p>for example, the please submit page 217 of your 300 page biography essay has a good deal of previous admissiosn essays posted on the internet. i particularly liked the direction one of the writers of these essays took when writing it, so i was considering using it as a basis for my essay</p>

<p>Obviously, the more original you are for these essays, especially for Ivies, the better off you are. The adcoms might recognize a point from a previous essay and not find it original. I don't think it's a huge deal, though.</p>
