Quick question about Parent PLUS loan.

So. I can't seem to find a quick answer to my questions. Hopefully someone can help me here.

Right now it's Wednesday night. My aunt faxed a Parent PLUS Loan application for me last Thursday night. I still haven't heard back from anyone. I e-mailed the loan coordinator at my school but he's out and won't be back until tomorrow.

I just have a few simple questions.
How will I/my parents be contacted with a credit decision on the loan? Do they call, or send an e-mail, or . . .?
Also, how long does it normally take to hear back from them? It says on the form 48 hours, but my financial advisor told me 72 hours.

For my daughter’s freshman and sophomore years, we applied through the school and received a decision within 2 weeks from the school via e-mail.

This year though, we were instructed to apply on-line at studentloans.gov by the school. We literally received our decision as soon as the application was done and we pressed “send”. The site said they would contact the school which then translated the approval into our daughter’s FA package and applied as needed to her account.

It was actually far faster and easier this year.
