Does anyone know of any type of "average" number of times a student takes the SAT II's? I have taken 5 of them so far (twice for the same subject), and I was wondering if taking 3 more (2 of them will be in a subject I have already done before and one new one). Is this too much?

The most colleges require is 3. I think 5 is enough.

I understand that colleges require a maximum of three, as far as I know, however I want to re-take some of the ones I've taken once already because of less-than-desirable scores! Any opinions or think that may not be such a great move? Thanks.

i think that depends on 1) what your current scores are, 2) where you're applying and how competitive it is/their average scores are, 3) if the tests are relevant for what you want to study, and 4) if you can raise the scores high enough to make it worthwhile. if the apps only have a place for you to submit 3 scores, it ain't worth it. go have fun or something!
