quick question about stanford gpa

if you apply ea, do they count 1st quarter of senior year in your gpa?

if you apply rd, do they count 1st semester of sernior year in your gpa?

they will only count first quarter if you show it to them, which you don't have to.

they definitely count first semester for RD.

yea pretty much all colleges that u apply to RD require 1st semester senior year grades

And, selective colleges are interested in your senior year schedule (a/k/a "rigorous curriculum").

would i have a better chances applying to stanford SCEA with a 3.875

or

applying RD to Stanford with a 3.9 (with 1st semester 12th grade)

Officially, there is no admission advantage to applying early, so one would conclude that there is a perhaps minscule advantage in submitting the better GPA. But, the joys and other advantages of an early admit are so great that I would be tempted to apply early anyway.

Wrong wrong.

Compare admit rates for SCEA and RD and you'll see that your chances are much greater early.

It is not "wrong" as to what the official position is. I doubt that any of us has access to statistics relating to the relative qualities of the application pools to draw useful conclusions. For example, are early admits disproportionately recruited athletes? legacies? URMs?
