I took an Honors physics class junior year (full year course), and now for my senior year I plan on taking a full year Advanced Physics class and taking the Physics C exam at the end of the year. However, I just found out that there are 2 parts. Do most people take both parts or just pick one they're most comfortable in? Are you allowed to take both parts? I'm taking a full year of Advanced Physics and AP Calc, so I think I'll be ready for both parts...

I believe most people take AP Physics C plan on and do take both parts. One part is mechanics, and the other is electricity and magnetism. As to the allowed part? Hey, some kids self study and then take AP exams, so I figure it you plunk the money down for xx exam, you’ll be allowed to take it. I’m not sure how a self study student “proves” they self-studied, unless it’s via an online AP class offered by places like CTY.

Look at the course description in your HS class catalogue or ask your teacher. Does the AP Physics C course cover both mechanics and electricy & magnetism or just one?
