When you apply for the housing app, do they just ask you rank the buildings you want to stay at (eg. New, North, Birnkrant, Pardee) without specifying if its double, triple or whatnot? I want to send my app in asap, but I'm still confused as to what to get in terms of building and room type. Any recommendations?

By the way are the birnkrant triples any good?
Can people add more opinions about their dorms (even though I've read nearly all the posts on housing)

I'm not sure if they've changed it this year or not (though I don't see why they would), but you would rank the buildings AND the room set-up (single, double, triple, sinks, etc.) For example, you could put 1. Birnkrant Double 2. Birnkrant Triple, etc.

I don't live in a triple, but I have seen them. Birnkrant triples are really roomy. They are basically two doubles put together, but only shared by three people. Closets and beds in one room. Desks and fridges in the other. The only drawback, in my opinion, is the chance that you have a higher chance of not getting along with one (or both) of your roommates. But I don't believe that's usually the case...

You need to register right away. The date you register will put your name on the priority list. You can change your selection many times after you register, ie it does not matter. What matter is your priority number. When it comes time to select, the lower the priority number the higher the chance you get to pick your first choice. I called housing and this is what they told me.

Columbia; you registered on site, right? ...And filled in the preferences and profile. If one gets the receipt that the $30 is paid, you are ok as far as priority, right?
A little anxious all was done right way back at end February since my D hasn't had any other notification besides the receipt. Hope it's ok.
