For the Common app's school report, can only my COLLEGE counselor fill it out or may my normal guidance counselor fill it out instead? I am asking because I have had the same guidance counselor for four years now and she knows me very very well, whereas we were just assigned a college counselor in junior year and I barely know her.

Hey (:
I’m not sure what you’re talking about here, I think it must be a structural difference between your school and mine. Ask your GC you’ve had for four years what you’re supposed to do.

Hello Deblerg. At my school, every student gets one of three guidance counselors beginning freshman year. Then during junior year, all juniors are assigned one of two college counselors (separate from the three guidance counselors). I am wondering if it is OK to have the school report submitted by the guidance counselor that I’ve known since freshman year or must it be submitted by the college counselor.

I think you just need a counselor in general. I doubt colleges will even notice, or care for that matter, the structural difference between your guidance counselor or your college counselor. As long as you have a counselor fill it out.

I was in a situation similar to yours! I had the same guidance counselor for three years and suddenly, the alphabet was rotated and I ended up with a brand new (new to our school) counselor. I called a bunch of colleges/universities to see if my old counselor could do my secondary school report and they said that as long as the counselor still worked at my high school, she could fill out the forms.
I hope this helps!
