I'm half Arab and Half Brazilian... as far as the application goes, What should I put to increase my chances most? Mixed, Arab, or Brazilian (Latino)? Does Brazilian count as Latino?

Latino means from Latin America, which means all the Romance language-speaking countries (since Latin is the mother of those languages). Brazilians are definitely Latino.

So…should I go with that or should I go with mixed?

put down Mixed

I think middle eastern is considered white, so don’t put that alone.

Well actually my dad was born in Ethiopia, but he’s ethnically from Yemen

bump 10char

Put down mixed because it’s the most truthful choice. Besides, I think mixed is the biggest minority in colleges.

Mixed or Multi ethnic is the most correct answer. You can feel good and honest about that too.

Skorpius7: my family is Brazilian too and we were also doubtful about what box to check on the application. There are some confusion about the meaning of the word Latino and Hispanic. From my research it means the same: Hispanic is more common on the east coast, while the word Latino is more used on the west coast. There are threads on the Hispanic forum about it. Brazil is a Latin country but its people are not Hispanic or Latinos, they do not have a Spanish culture.
On the common application when you check the Hispanic box, it will ask from country of origin and will explicitly exclude Brazil.
