bumppppppppppppppppppppp

"all online applications must be submitted by Midnight, January 1 (Pacific Time)."

Since midnight tonight is January first, that would mean that the application is due by midnight tonight. Luckily they're adding a second to the clock at 11:59:59, so you have extra time.

Make sure to submit it early: after 10pm everyone is going to be submitting their applications to every school in the country. Who knows if you'll be able to get on commonapp?

Bobby

LOL I like how to count that leap second as "extra time." Well every little bit counts I guess. But like rankinr said, I'd submit it a few hours early. The commonapp tends to slow down, and even though you won't be harshly docked for having it in a few minutes late, it's always better to make it in on time.

the common app website says its due the 1st.

that has always confused me. i mean, if things can be postmarked by tomorrow, then why can't the application go in tomorrow.

when i applied early to another school i was allowed to send it on that day.

wrong.

the deadline is 11:59:59 PM on Jan 1, 2008. That makes it tomorrow night, not tonight.

Okay. I was just saying what Stanford's website said: that it's due tonight.

Midnight January 1 refers to the midnight following January 1. You don't say midnight tomorrow morning; you say midnight tonight.

okay, thank you for the clarification.

i was pretty sure its due tomorrow.

It's due tomorrow night.
