I was just wondering if it is necessary to have an interview when applying for EA. Also heard the you may not need the three SAT IIs when applying early, is this true. Thank u for your help

Bump, I’d also like to know

Yes, interviews are required for all applicants, EA or RD. Although I have heard third or fourth -hand on CC that during RD a few people living in very remote areas don’t have an interview. But otherwise, you will have n interview.

As far as Georgetown’s SATII policies, you are largely correct. Technically, they don’t “require” 3 SATII’s for every applicant (rather they very strongly recommend it), mainly because it can be tough for international applicants - of which Georgetown has a large share - to take that many. However, if you’re applying RD, there is a general expectation you will have three, but -though I don’t know for sure- my guess would be that if ever other part of the application was stellar, it wouldn’t land you in the reject pile. You can browse through the decisions thread in years past to get an idea of who got in and didn’t with how many SATII’s. They are much more lax however, with EA applicants. Their rationale is that they recognize EA applicants may not have as much time as RD applicants to take the tests (something which I personally think is nonsense). I got in with 2. If you go through the EA decisions thread you’ll see many accepted with two or one, and a few even with none. Take as many SATII’s as you think you can do well on. If you don’t think you muster up three strong SATII’s, it’s definitely in your best interest to apply EA.

Do they set up interviews (ie call you) after you apply or do you have to set them up yourself?

You have to set them up yourself…they’ll email you all the contact info for your interviewer and they expect you to set it up with him/her.
