My common app is all about my investments in the stock market. Is it okay if I briefly mention that I opened a retirement account (which is true), or does this make me seem like I’m only in it for the money?

This shows your strong interest in a particular subject area, which shows great talent to Admissions. However, if you applied to a major that is not related to money…then this may hurt your chances.
