Quick question on USC BA/MD

How many applications does this program require? Does it matter which teacher it comes from?

I'm starting my applications early, and can't find this info online since the application page is down. Any help would be great.

We were told a couple of weeks ago at orientation that USC (University of Southern CA) will no longer offer a BA/MD program. The class of 2015 is the last group.

god damn, to add insult to injury i missed the LAST baccMD class :(

but i totally understand that since they have such a large pool of applications that are all incredibly strong… plus they have an increasingly competitive med school so they may get better kids to fill med school spots than the baccMD kids… the whole purpose of these programs is to pick the potentially most competitive med students and locking them down with an offer of admission, that way Keck already will have 20 or so competitive kids in its class 4 years down the road

Wait so I’m graduating high school in 2013… So that means I won’t be able to apply to the ba/md program at USC? :(

Yes. This year (HS 2011/USC 2015) is the last class.

sportsmomma i’m not sure where you got your information but I talked to the keck school of medicine only last week to ask about details of the application and they acknowledged that I was a member of the graduating class of 2012 so i’m sure if the program was discontinued they would have let me know

As I said earlier, I was told this information at orientation a couple of weeks ago (USC F1 orientation). Dr. William McClure told the parents (this includes me) at the “What every parent of a pre-health student needs to know” seminar that this was the last class for the Bacc/Md program. Judy Haw, Director of Supplemental Instruction, who was also involved in the seminar also confirmed this.

I’m not trying to be rude but I just talked to the school and got my information from there but it really seems ridiculous to argue about it so i’ll just see in the fall.

I called the admissions office this week and they confirmed that the program has officially been discontinued
