Quick Question re: UCLA Pre-med

I will be attending UCLA as a junior transfer this upcoming quarter(Fall 2012). I've already finished 1 year of both general biology and general chemistry. My question is: Can I jump right into 14C, or do I have to take the 30 sequence?

There's no real reason for me to take the 30 sequence, but it feels weird that I'll only have to take three courses(14C/14CL, 14D) to fulfillment med school requirements(which ask for one year of organic chemistry with lab).

Thanks

You should probably post this here:

I think you need to have taken the entire Chem 14 series to satisfy pre-med requirements. UCLA has a very strange Chem setup regarding the 14 series, and I don’t think it was designed with transfer students in mind. You might have to take the 30 sequence instead. I may be wrong. You’ll be able to go over it with an advisor at orientation right?

Will post in the UCLA section.

Yeah, the entire chem sequence is pretty odd. I’ll talk with an adviser for sure, just wanted to get some input. Really hoping I don’t have to take the 30 sequence.
