<p>I just recieved my SAT scores and I have a quick question. I'm an instate student, and I am graduating in 2009 from highschool, but I will also have my Associates degree at that time. I recieved a 1370/2100 on my SATs, and I was wondering if I should retake to be admitted into the honors program, assuming I'm admitted to the university. Since I will have already completed my general education requirements and probably wouldn't have an opportunity to take any honors classes because I will start as a junior, is it worth taking the test for a third time? Thanks for your responses! :-)</p>
<p>From what I remember when we did the Friday with Honors this Jan. is that the honors program is only a two year program. Also, they said at that time that you need to have a 1400 on the combined cr/m in order to get into it. Thankfully, DD, who's a jr now, scored above that so at least we know if she can get into UF next year, she can get into the honors program. </p>

<p>it states- "The Honors Program will only consider scores from the December 2007 test dates or earlier."</p>
<p>so even if you were to take the exam one more time, it wouldnt count.</p>
<p>sobe55, the OP is a junior. The honors program will only consider scores from December 2007 for the graduating class of 2008.</p>

<p>The Honors classes are not like in high school where you take a higher level of a class. It's the same class, but with less students. I think you have to take two classes that are particular to the Honors Program in the first 2 years regardless of whether you start as a Jr. Many students with AP/IB and dual enrollment credits can start at a pretty advanced level and still be in the Honors Program. The AA degree is what throws me. Call them and ask about your case specifically.</p>
<p>If you've taken the SAT before and the scoring trend is up, I would take it again. It definitely doesn't hurt to have more options open to you if you score higher (and I'm sure you will). </p>
<p>By the way, Bright Futures will pay for 120 credits of classes you take at the University as long as you don't fulfill all the requirements for graduation. That's why many students have two majors.</p>
<p>Thanks for all of your replies. I will definitely call the university, because I think I would really enjoy the research, housing, and study abroad opportunities that the honors program presents, even if I couldn't take any honors classes. :-)</p>
