Quick Question!

I applied to Smith College Early Decision II. But, I was wondering if I could also apply to Agnes Scott College under the Early Action Plan?

Yes- you can apply to other colleges that offer non-binding early action (the term “early action” implies non-binding as opposed to “early decision”)

Okay sigh
Thank you so much!
:)

no problem, good luck:)!

Thanks! I really do need luck to get into Smith.

I have another question.

I sent my Common Application, the Supplement, and the Early Decision Commitment Form about 30 minutes before the deadline. But, I received an email from them saying "Thank you for your Early Decision application to Smith. For information about application requirements and deadlines, visit [Smith College: Admission](http://www.smith.edu/admission/)
Please complete and submit the Common Application Supplement online, including the Early Decision Commitment Form. "

Is this just an automatic message or did they not receive the supplement and early decision form that I submitted online?

It’s probably an automatic message.

Well, I got a second email today from Smith asking for my Early Decision Form and my first available grades. I guess they didn’t receive the one I sent electronically, so I’m going to fax it in. But, I don’t understand what they mean by “Please also send us your first available senior grades.” Do I send my report card or my transcript? What are they asking for?

Ask your guidance counselor, but they probably want your transcript, since presumably your 3rd quarter grades won’t be ready for a few months yet.

Thanks! I will ask her because I sent my transcript and the Smith College BannerWeb site said they received it Dec. 14, 2010 so I have no idea what they’re asking for.

Were your second quarter grades on your transcript? For lots of students, their second quarter/first semester grades are not available until after the application deadline. If you received any grades recently that are not reflected on the transcript you sent in
December, you need to send them.

My second quarter/first semester grades are not available until Janaury 21, which is the end of the first semester at my school, so I don’t think they were on my transcript. Do I send it after January 21 or am I going to be too late? I applied ED II.

call admissions to be 100% sure.

I think they want first quarter senior year at the very least.

My first quarter grades aren’t recorded anywhere. My school goes by semesters. So my first available senior grades wouldn’t be available until January 21, so I guess my school has to send it then??

Sorry for all these questions, I’m just really confuse. I’m going to talk to my counselor tomorrow about my first quarter grades though. Thank you guys for all your help! :)

I’m sure your school does quarterly report cards, even if your quarter grades don’t go on your transcript. Talk to your counselor, but they probably want a copy of your quarterly grades, as those are your first available senior grades, even if they aren’t the final semester ones. By January 21, the ED 2 decisions will likely be made, so it will be too late to send your semester grades (though if you are accepted tehy will want to see your semester grades eventually to ensure you’re not slacking off).

I strongly suggest that you have your counselor call Smith to ensure that the correct documents are sent. If you do not have any fall grades recorded anywhere, then the counselor, and not you, must explain this to admissions. This kind of issue needs to be addressed directly with Smith since no one here can offer anything more than guesses.
