I have sent my transcript long time ago. If my transcript arrives late, will I get rejected because the website says its required that the transcript must arrive at the deadline? Did anybody get accepted even with a late transcript?

Can any fellow high school student take the initiative and leadership to answer this question? I’m curious. and kind of anxious.

It is Sunday. You posted your questions at 3:30 a.m. and 4:53 a.m. and you are asking for initiative and leadership to answer your question? People are usually sleeping at this time.

Are you registered with UT? Can you check your status online?
<a href=“UT EID - Get a UT EID - Getting Started”>UT EID - Get a UT EID - Getting Started;

UT ID is required to schedule a visit and can be obtained any time. My child got it in 10th grade.

You should call admissions at UT if you are sure your transcript was sent. My S had a similar problem. What happened was that he had two EID numbers and his transcript was filed under an older number. Admissions merged the accounts and within an hour all of the materials were in. My first answer from admissions was that they probably just hadn’t gotten the information into his file but when I explained that the transcript and in my S’s case SAT scores had been sent over a month ago they, checked further and found the problem. Good Luck!

Once your transcript arrives on campus it is marked with the date it arrived and put in your file, but will probably be processed later. If it arrives Nov. 30 but isn’t processed until Dec. 10th it will still count. If it arrives Dec. 3 (or something like that) I’m not sure what will happen.

@Ya Ya- I’m extremely sorry for my inconsiderate attitude! T.T Please forgive me. I live in the Pacific so the time may differ greatly… argh. I’m so sorry. :(

Anyways, I have submitted my application, and my scores have been sent; I’m pretty sure they have received my SAT scores. I do have a UT EID and the status currently says that it has not been processed yet. So is it a reject if my transcript arrives late? I worked so hard on the application… Any advice, please?
Thank you all so much for you replies!

Oh and can I just fax an unofficial transcript and say in a note “My official transcript will be coming soon.” ?

I agree with spectrum. I actually have the same issue with my transcript, and I’m planning on calling the admissions office in the morning if the status of my transcript hasn’t changed yet. The office opens tomorrow morning at 8am in Austin, TX time, and their number is 512-475-7387.

I’ll let you know if what they tell me!

UT is a very big university and they often make mistakes.

My child applied to UT in the very beginning of September. SAT/ACT/ transcript/recommendation letters were sent even before the application was submitted. Paper resume was sent after. UT was not busy yet. The last document they processed was Senior-year course schedule, and it took about 3 weeks before we finally saw that the application was complete.

We asked 3 teachers to send recommendation letters. None of these letters is even mentioned in application status, and they were sent, I am sure.

We got the acceptance letter in the end of October. In November we received an email from UT that the deadline for scholarships was approaching and the scholarship application was not completed so we should hurry up. Well, both ApplyTexas and UT website said the scholarship application was complete and submitted. After our inquires they sent email that it was a mistake.

Right before Thanksgiving we received another interesting email that the record of meningitis vaccination is required immediately since my child had to register for spring!!! classes (being a senior at high school :-)) We even did not bother to make any inquiries this time.

I have very bad feeling about it. It looks like you have to check and re-check everything 10 times dealing with UT.

Taking all this into consideration I personally would not bother asking questions here. Nobody knows who, how and where messed up at UT. It’s best to call.:-)

Also, they answer emails pretty quickly - usually within 2 days.

imazingg, you are simply amazing! Thank you so much!

Ya Ya, today I checked my application status and all the school needed is the high school transcript. I really hope they do accept late transcripts because my counselor was busy filling out other students’ applications! (Doesn’t the university know that counselors are busy too at this time of the year?) and thank you for your extremely detailed and helpful info! I really loved it! I do not know what I’d do without you!

Again thank you for your replies! I’m very grateful for your answers!

No problem! I just got off from a call with them. Their offices are so busy… I called multiple times and didn’t get a dial tone until after ten tries. And after that I was on hold for six minutes!

Anyway, they told me that the transcript takes 7-10 business days to process or something, so depending on when you sent it in, it could take a while. So it could be there, but they just haven’t gotten to it yet.

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much! But is it okay if my transcript arrives late?

I don’t think they’ll accept it if it arrives late, but if you’ve sent it a while ago it should be there. Also, the transcripts for UT Austin are sent electronically, so I don’t think it’d arrive late unless you literally sent it in at the last minute.

And I checked with my school’s registrar’s office today, and apparently they never sent in my transcript for UT! They did for the second school I requested for though. Make sure to check with your school so that you’re sure that nothing like that happened with your transcript request. It would have been really bad if I didn’t double check with mine…

Email your admissions counselor saying you sent the transcript a long time ago and it doesn’t show up as having been received. I did that, and the day after I sent the email, the transcript showed up as having been received.

imazingg- We could send our transcripts electronically? How? And if not, is there a way I can fax a signed version of the transcript to be sure? I’m pretty sure my counselor can call to validate the transcript and tell about some of the conflicts I had. I had mail problems. Also my counselor was busy with other students’ applications… Can we? (I live in the Pacific so mailing is a significant problem for me now.)

PS I just sent an email to admissions about this…

Typically, the high school GC sends the transcript electronically. Some high schools use snail mail.

But I live in the Pacific and my school is snail mail. By the way, is faxing counted as electronically with an official’s signature on it? What if my counselor calls to validate it?

Not sure. Your best bet is to see what answer you get from the e-mail you sent. You can also call if you do not get a reply by start of normal business hours.

In all public schools around here its is high school registrar who sends transcript electronically. Counselors have nothing to do with academic or any other school records.
Why counselor?
Do you go to private schools and don’t have registrar or counselor is some kind of middleman between students and registrar?

You’re right. The registrar is probably the one to actually send the info. S attends public school, but most communication is through GC.
