If the admissions officer for Cornell said: Were sorry, but its too late in the admissions cycle to submit supplemental information/updates. We appreciate your continued interest in Cornell, but we are more than halfway through building our class, so we are no longer accepting any materials unless they are required to complete an incomplete application.

Does that hint I didn't get into Cornell? Or am I reading to much into this? Thanks.

Nope. it means they are not adding anything more to applications. Yours may have already been reviewed and they are not taking the time to review it again. Don’t read anything into it. Good luck.

I tried to submit supplemental information a week ago and never got a response so I think you’re in better shape…hah

They’ll still review your application, but you’re at a slight/major disadvantage depending on what you didn’t hand in on time.

It was basically a continued interest letter and just letting them know what i’ve been doing the past few months but nothing major like awards or contests or something.

Its weird because I got two confirmation mails yesterday from Cornell saying- that they have added my supplements to my application for consideration.

theres the main admissions office and then each college has their own admissions office. its not uncommon to get a different answer to the same question from each office. since each college has their own selection comm, id stick to communicating with the college specific (CALS, ILR, etc) admission office.

when was the late date to send supplemental stuff in for cornell by the way? I’m just curious if some of the stuff I sent in February got in on time.

I sent in stuff mid to late February of 2010 (without an issue) because I had no choice in the matter. My supplement essay could never get to admissions in the mail (still not sure why to this day) and I had to e-mail it to them. It was the reason that I had been deferred and I got in as a roller within two weeks of my sending the supplement essay.
