During Freshman year, I slacked tremendously. I just wasn't motivated. I go to one of the most elite private schools in the US, and I got mostly B's.

Now I'm a sophomore and getting A's. Will colleges see the personal development I went through, and will it help me more than not?

Yes, upward grade trends do help...

Hey I had the same exact issue...I realy didnt apply myself freshman year and sophomore year I got A's and have been progressing ever since.

As long as ur transcript shows growth every year...they will see that you are gaining a strong work ethic and applying yourself more.

In other words...my guidance counselor said it looks good :)

Yes, this helps--just remember that if you slip backwards, though, then they will consider that you can't keep your motivation up--so don't slip back to the old "slacker" ways.

I surely won't. I'm being more successful right now than I've ever been and my rank went from the 75th percentile to under the 3rd.
