After this semester I am going to have 18 sem credits at a CCC. I have 26 from Arizona State but don't know how many will transfer over to the UC's. I attempted to contact school officials but they said they don't go over a students transcript with them until they are admitted. Problem is I dont know how many of my 26 credits from ASU will transfer over. I am planning on taking 18 credits at my CCC next semester...but if not many of my 26 are going to transfer I would like to know so I can take more units next semester. What I am wondering is will not having 60 credits completed by the end of my spring term (I'll have at least 53...maybe as many as 62) affect my chances of admissioin? If so, and since I can't find out which classes transfer, should I tell the UC I am going to take 24 credits this semester...even if I dont plan on it? Then just take credits this summer to "make up" for it?

Also, would my CCC office think I'm crazy when I request to take 27 units? Would they even allow it (I have 5 A's and a C this semester)? I just dont want to complete this semester, find out I'm 5 units short of 60, and be *****ed...

Hmm...I always thought that you only needed at least 60 credits - they don't necessarily have to be transferrable to your current CCC or the UCs you're applying to. You just need to have completed 60 units in your entire college career. I may be wrong, but that's always been the way I interpreted it.

27 units sounds like high school all over again

"1. Complete 60 semester (90 quarter) units of transferable college credit with a GPA of at least 2.4. No more than 14 semester (21 quarter) units may be taken Pass/Not Pass."

That's what UC site says... I interpreted it as meaning 60 transferable credits. Anyone else have thoughts on this particular situation?

oh yeah then that sucks. hopefully one of the CCC people will have a better idea.

yeah those 60 units HAVE to be transferrable
