Quick Question

Hi there! I'm an int'l student, so I'm not 100% sure exactly how the American uni app system works

I was wondering, if I apply Early Decision for Wharton and get rejected, is there anyway I can be considered for ED for the College? As in, is there anywhere on the application that you list which schools you want? Or will I just have to apply regular decision to the College if I get rejected from Wharton?

If you apply ED to one school you can't also choose another.

Also, if you apply ED and get rejected, you can't apply RD that same year.

oh ok, thanks so much! that really helps :)
now i just have to decide whether i will take my chances with wharton or opt for the slighlty (though def not by much) safer CAS

I went through that process and decided to go for CAS because I know for sure that I want to go to Penn and CAS is easier to get into, plus I'm not even sure if business REALLY interests me like most Whartonites :)

Pick the school that has the major that interests you more, since you can only apply to one school at Penn. Your interest and natural fit with the major matters more than the difference in admissions rates.

keep in mind that the admissions office is very adept at sniffing out applicants who are trying for a backdoor into wharton. I also personally think that when you consider that your essays and whatnot will likely be better if you're applying to the division you really want to go to, the improvement in the overall quality of your application will likely outweigh the marginal difference in admissions rate between the schools.

The only thing you can do somewhat for 2 EDs is if you apply to a joint program ED and check off the box that you want to be considered for a single degree program ED too.

For example, if you do huntsman ED and say you also would like to be considered for wharton ED, you could get rejected from huntsman and accepted to wharton in the ED process.
