quick question

Just wondering if anyone knows the percentage of athletic recruits applying early decision that get accepted. It's like 2/3 for regular decision, right? Does applying early change anything?

I don't know the statistics, but yes, for recruited athletes it is a significant boost to apply Early. If you're sure about Swat and finances aren't a major concern, go for it.

Is fin-aid @ ED available?

Yes, and Swat will offer you whatever need-based aid they think you should get (they're generally pretty good about not screwing over ED kids). However, with Early Decision you lose the opportunity to compare financial aid packages, and the college might calculate your situation differently than you would, so if you absolutely need a lot of financial aid you might want to think twice about ED.

being international
my family contribution when converted to $ is 0 (no matter how they interpret it, i guess) ...

Swat is not need-blind for internationals, but they are committed to meeting 100% of need (I believe). However, I don't know that much about how international financial aid works in practice, so I'll leave a more knowledgable poster to answer that.

I don't know specifically about Swarthmore, but many schools that are not need-blind for international students do not allow internationals that need FA to apply ED.

Swarthmore is not need-blind for internationals, but that also means that if they take you they will pay for you to come because they want you to be there. :)

ummm, i know and i do not really expect to be admitted during ED... just wanna give a try.
i didn't see words like "internationals apllying for fin-aid can't go under ED", so do swat have this policy? i emailed them but they didn't reply..

According to "International students Q&A" it seems like you can apply ED as international, and will get the same consideration for fin. aid as RD.

We definitely had a bunch of ED Internationals this year...you can definitely apply early.

so...what's so special about swat...
anyone inspire me for the supplement essay??
some activity or courses that worth mention in it??

Post 12 you ask……”so...what's so special about swat...”

Swarthmore has one of the most intense and rigorous academic environments of any undergraduate school in the world.

thank you
that's really timiding...
when do swarts sleep at nights...or they don't sleep at all?

It all comes down to time management. If you work a focused 8 hour day just like you were in the work force you have time for fun and sleep.

In fact the best thing you can do for yourself and your grades is to get the rest you need.
