Does anyone know what the minimum gpa we need for the spring semester? I applied to the UC's for the fall 08 and just want to know what would be an acceptable gpa for spring.

Ive heard we need a 3.0 gpa, is that cumulative or does that mean a B in every class?

What would happen if I had like a 3.5 but got a C in calc 2

It's cumulative; in fact, you can even have an F in a class and still meet the 3.0 minimum requirement provided you have above a 3.0 GPA, though I wouldn't recommend it.

Can anyone verify this? I can fail a class in spring and not get my admission rescinded? I'm not planning to.. but I'm taking Calc 2 atm and well I'm a bit over whelmed because my calc 1 teacher didnt prepare me well and my calc 2 teacher is really strict so i might fail...

Getting poor grades in the spring semester is different, as they do not see the grades, and are unable to base their decision upon them. I am not sure on the leeway of one's GPA during the spring, but the grades one receives before the applicant is turned in, and are thus on the application, are low, it does not matter provided one is accepted.

I'd recommend dropping the class with a W instead of getting an F

you probably would have to take the class as a prereq prior to transfer? so i dont think you should drop, try to get some extra help, go to the tutoring center if you can.

So I can get a C in the college level transferable math, and they will not revoke my acceptance? I am worried because it is the math class, you know? But it is not related to my major... Please help, I have the final tomorrow. =/

That depends on what UC you are attempting to transfer to. I know for a fact that Berkeley requires you to maintain a B average for the Spring semester or your admittance can be rescinded. Make sure you contact the UC you are planning on transferring and ask what their policy is. Also when your acceptance is posted online it will have a list of things that has to be met in order for your acceptance to not be rescinded. Some UCs are more lenient than others. Whatever you do, do not get a failing grade in your Spring semester! I agree w/ alansda to drop the class & get a W instead of an F.

disengage, just try to work hard and not get a "F" unless it's the final that might throw you off like if you have a C average then you bomb the final...but yeah if you try and then you fail, try taking it in summer at least show that you care to take it over and pass before you transfer

My friend got accepted to UCLA and she didn't pass her Pre-Calc class btu then she register to take it in summer which i don't think she pass as well ? but yeah bottom line is that she didn't got rescinded.

Thanks a lot! The schools I am applying to are UCLA, Berkeley, and UCSD. I'm pretty much only concerned with UCLA, I know I won't get into Berkeley as I only did pre reqs for LA.

So if I withdraw from a course that I had listed as taking in Spring on my UC application, they wont rescind admission and let me take in summer? Can anyone verify this?

would colleges rescind acceptances if you receive a D, 3 B's, and a C for the second semester of senior year?
my first semester grades were...
2C's 3A's, and a B
