Quick Question!

does your parent's overtime count towards the amount of finacial aid? My Dad makes significantly less without over time.

Help?

They look at historical income. Your dad could work 90 hour weeks and they're not going to adjust it to a 40 hour week. If he's been working 90 hour weeks and making a busload of money...they're going to see that busload of money. And they're going to want it.

I do think your dad could enclose a letter specifying his "base" salary and letting them know that the overtime is not guaranteed and can vary. It is not really like having a part time job where you can count on those hours. My husband also works overtime and it is not at all predictable. We can't rely on that money as definite income because months could pass without it.
