quick question

do colleges take into account where an applicant is from? if so, to what extent?

for example: north dakotan with pretty good credentials.

come on people, north dakota? not even a little interested?

bumpity bump

Well, I think colleges try to have a certain amount of people from different regions. Also states have certain school rankings and education systems, so in a sense yes, but no.

it depends.
some colleges want kids from all over like Rice.
some are more biased to their own state, like UCLA

most private schools would definitely be interested in someone from the dakotas, as they like to say they have students from xx number of states
