Quick question

I applied to all the UCs, with a 3.9 WGPA and 27 ACT.

I am currently enrolled in a HS in CA that uses a 4 X4, and I am currently in AP Calc AB and was wondering if it would negatively affect my admission decision if I switched to pre-calc honors.

Thanks!

i guess technically it would since your class rigor would be going down... not sure by how much, but it would definitely make ur chances go down a little bit. unless u absolutely have to, i wouldnt suggest making the switch. then again, it could have a zero effect if ur failing AP Calc or something.

it'll definitely be more of a negative effect for the bigger UC's like berkeley or LA

Well, I'm not failing, as we just started two week ago. But, I feel really unprepared and lost because at my school you're supposed to take pre calc h first. So, I don't see a good grade for me in that class in the future. That's why I'm in this bind.

Anyone else?

I have to make this decision by Wednesday!

I feel that if you are kind of positive you won't make an "A" or "B" then you should make the switch. It seems from your post that you've been skipping Pre Calc Honors, and I don't think the UC's would blame you that much for going step by step in the math classes. I mean, it would probably have somewhat of an effect, but really I don't think you should worry about it too much. Just my humble opinion.
