Quick question

Sorry for the two threads.

How important is a leadership position in the application? I'm not an actual captain but I do the same exact things as the captain. Should I just put captain on my application since I do the same things, or does it really not factor in that much?

I think leadership positions are definitely looked at…

why do you do the same things as the captain but don’t have the title? that doesn’t seem fair to you.

Leadership as demonstrated through specific positions and actions is part of our review process…it’s one way applicants can distinguish themselves in the extracurricular activities portion of the application.

If you are not captain, do not say that you are…especially since it’s unlikely to be backed up anywhere else (such as in recommendation letters). However, feel free in the extracurricular section or the additional information section to further explain your participation and responsibilities for particular activities.
