Quick Questions: Are these scores too low for Stanford?

I took the SAT twice:
650CR 690M 660W (Essay Score: 7)

700CR 670M 790W (Essay Score: 10)

My superscore is 2180

700CR 690M 790W

If it helps, I'm African-American which I'm pretty sure is a URM.

I'm applying to Stanford REA, and I'm taking my SAT IIs in Math 2 and Chemistry this October.

I heard that it's possible to take the SAT a third time in November, and rush the scores to Stanford. Is that true?

BTW, I know that my math score is low :(. I don't really know what happened there. I've always gotten A's in math, and this year I took Pre-Calc and AP Stats and got an A+ in both, both semesters. Do you think my grades could take the focus of of my bad math score?

Sorry about the thread title. It should say quick question.

I don’t think your math scores in your math classes will override your math SAT. Think about it, the people applying to Stanford come from different schools, and some of those might have math classes that might not require as much effort as others’ math classes. I take colleges use the SAT to compare everyone’s ability in certain subjects.

You might have better grades in math classes as other applicants, but what if some of the other applicants’ math classes were harder and more challenging? On the SAT, everyone is on the same level since all applicants are taking the same test with the same material being tested.

I hope the best for you. Work on bringing up those scores up!

I don’t think it’s too low, but make sure you just do well on you SAT II Subject Test. You have a chance, but not a strong chance. I think a 2180 is really good, I don’t think your low math score will put you in a deep hole.
