So I got accepted to JMU! woohooo I was just wondering some things about the school

Best part of JMU?
Why you chose JMU?
How are the dorms?
How is the food?
What is the study abroad program like?
Can people visit you and stay over in the dorms?
Internships?
What other schools did you consider?

And any other information would be great! I can't wait to visit and to make a final decision

Best Part of JMU: Is probably the great sense of school spirit and the fact that everyone is so friendly here
Why you chose JMU?: I chose JMU because I visited the campus my junior of high school and fell in love and just wanted to get out of the north.
How are the dorms?: Almost all the dorms are nice excluding the lake area dorms and the tree house dorms. Many of them have been recently build or renovated excluding the tree house, lake and village areas.
How is the food? The food is really good as it is rated #3 in the nation by the princeton review and there are many different dining options around campus.
How is the study abroad program: I dont know much about it but there are many different options depending on your major.
Can people visit and stay with you in the dorms-everyone can visit up until 1:30 am on weekdays and until 3:30 am on weekends. visitors of the same sex are allowed to spend the night.
Internships-there are many different internships many of which are out of Richmond or DC and depend on your major. The majority of the internships become available your junior and senior year but there are a few exceptions of sophomores and freshmen getting some.
My choice last year was beet UNH and JMU, and JMU was clearly the winner in my eyes.
any other questions you have feel free to ask.

Thanks! a few more questions -
How is the teacher student relationships? Are they around to answer questions if you need them?
Are there work/study jobs on campus?
About the people staying over - how strict are they about the same sex thing? I have some friends that would want to come visit and they are the opposite sex, just curious
Are there things to do in Harrisonburg?

Teacher/ Student relationships: All of the professors I have had have been very approachable and friendly. You can tell they really care about their students.
Work/studying jobs-there are many on campus, most jobs actually are only available as work study.
people staying over-they are not very strict about the whole opposite sex staying over, its basically dont ask, dont tell.
Harrisonburg- The city is really what you make of it, theres a downtown that is more scenic with not many shops and restaurants but there are big name stores all around Harrisonburg. Within a half hour to hour drive off campus there are places you can hiking, camping etc. There also are a lot of activities to do on campus.
