I'm currently a freshman studying mechanical engineering who wants to transfer to University of Michigan and I was hoping if you guys could answer a few questions for me?

1) I took the SAT 3 times and ACT once in high school with a best score of 1310/1600 and 28 respectively. Is it a good idea to re-take either/both tests if I'm willing to study intensely. I think my current scores are just too low for a school like Michigan and plus I want to help improve my chances any way I can.
Also, if I should re-take the SAT, would I have enough time? The SAT will be on Jan. 26 but my application is due on Feb 1?

2) Since Michigan is on rolling admissions (app due Feb 1), how much will my chances of getting accepted be impacted if I applied ASAP rather than waiting until closer to the deadline?

3) Finally, how many recommendations should I send? Right now I have only 1, but I can easily get a few more if that will help with my chances. Again, I want to do everything in my power to improve my chances.

Thanks!
