I’m doing really badly this semester and will end up with either 2 or 3 Bs. This drops my UW Umich GPA to either a 3.8 or like 3.78-77 or so. I’m taking the most difficult courseload (Full IB Diploma as well as an AP class during my sophomore year), so is that still solid for Umich? My ACT btw is like 30, which isn’t great, but is it still decent for Umich? I also have a couple of leadership posts (VP of 2 clubs) and should get wonderful recs from a couple of teachers, so do I still have a chance at Umich, or should I give up hope because of my meager GPA (I’ll apply to LSA as an econ major btw)?

On Michigan’s website, it says that the average admitted ACT is 27-31, but then they only have subcategories for english and math. My ACT if these two categories are only looked at would be a 32 or 33 (I did well on math and got 34, but got raped by the science part which brought down my composite), so is that what they use for their “composite” or do they still take science/reading? If they do use all 4, why do they only post math and english and not the others?

Yes, a 3.8 UM GPA is fine. ACT is like you said, it isn't great, but it's good enough. With a 3.8 + 30, Michigan will be a math for you.

They look at composite (math, english, science, reading). And I can't explain why they'd only post math/english.

well its not exactly 3.8, it might be like a 3.78 or something if I get a B in english also, so how much will that hurt?

btw, what do you mean by math? Do you mean match?

It won't hurt that much more. It's not like one B is going to be the difference between you getting in or not.

I meant match not math :)
