<p>I was down to D and E. CB said that both enhanced and repudiated can go in the first blank but it doesn't make sense for altercation to go in the second. It said altercation means modification but the dictionary says it is an argument or disagreement.</p>

<p>The answer is E.</p>

<p>but yeah E makes total sense. the theory was taken down (repudiated) and to avoid bitterness of others (acrimony) she dedicated it to someone else br0</p>

<p>If you’ve typed the original question correctly…it’s alteration, which does mean modification. It seems you’ve looked up altercation, indeed an argument. I agree with E.</p>
