How do you know if they have a completed file for your application?

I am looking at the status page but it doesn't say anything like "COMPLETE" or anything...should it?

Where should it say it?

How do you know if they have a completed file for your application?

I am looking at the status page but it doesn't say anything like "COMPLETE" or anything...should it?

Where should it say it?

It used to say “application under review” once it was complete and went to committee, but that was not necessarily by the deadline. Look for that message soon. And it will say “A decision will be available on December 14th” once your file has been reviewed and a decision made. If you do not have this message by early December, you decision will likely not be made until March.

Hmph :/

I don’t know what it could be. I feel like I submitted everything. I submitted my essay and resume, I payed the application fee, they have both my high school as well as dual enrollment transcripts, and they have my SAT scores. I’m a FL resident and a born citizen, I don’t know why mine doesn’t say complete I did everything

I don’t think it does say complete, I think it just says that your stuff have been received or something. At least it shows that your test scores have been received. For mine, it says my transcripts have been received but not my test scores, and my scores were sent twice to FSU long before the deadline, so I have a really bad feeling that they lost my scores or something. =/

oh, I’m sorry lalily, I hope they get your test scores soon!

And I found out that I didn’t do the Florida residency Affidavit. Could this be why my status is not complete? I just filled it out and received an email saying:

“Thank you for submitting an Online Residency Form to The Florida State University. Please allow 7-10 business days for the Online Status Check to reflect these changes.”

Does this mean I will not be considered complete for the October 17th deadline?

No, I think the residency can be turn in whenever.

Admission Decision
An admission decision will be available on December 14, 2011 at 12:00 AM.
Thats what it will say when it is complete, in the middle of the page of the status check

This is what I have…

Will I not be considered for the October 17th deadline?

One thing I noticed on your status page is that it shows no receipt for your essay being received. On my status page, in the Application Information section, directly under “Major”, it should say “Essay Receipt - Received”.

Also, for your Dual Enrollment transcript, it says…not reviewed for completeness. This may also be why your status is still not complete. You can log into your application again, go to the checklist, and see whether or not your essay was submitted.

@jordynelle

Thanks for replying!

I checked my essay, and yes, it has been submitted. It says “Submitted on 10/13/2011 at 3:27 PM”

And yeah, I guess it could be the dual enrollment.

Or maybe they are just slow to update my status page…I don’t know. I just want to be considered as complete for the October 17th deadline because I have everything submitted already from my end.

@Censored ~

Since everything seems to be stamped with a date and time, I’m sure as long as everything is in by today, it will be considered. As they stated, they’re inundated with applications at this time. I’m sure you will see a change in your status soon.

Good Luck!

Your application status on the website DOES NOT NEED TO BE COMPLETE for your application to be considered. It updates regularly until it says that an admission decision will be available on … Then you know. If you waited until the last 2-3 weeks to complete everything, it may not update for another few days to a week. If you have sent it all, give it time. Your status will update.

I just check my OSC and my test scores are there! Yay! The only thing that I didn’t see was the residency thing but I did send the residency thing when I applied. So hopefully it will update again soon

I forgot to update you guys!

They updated my page a day or two later and it says I will receive an admission decision on December 14th!

Thank you for your help :)

Considering that FSU now has at least 30,000 applications it’s working with, you shouldn’t expect anything to be entered/updated so quickly. It’s past the point of quick entry for a lot of colleges now, and there’s no more opportunity to get ahead of the game.
