Hi, I have lived in US since 6th grade, and I have above 700 on all SATs. I am currently looking into college applications and found that many colleges such as swarthmore and mount holyoke strongly encourage students whose native language is not english to take the toefl. If I did not take the test, will I be put into a disadvantageous spot?

nope...........

u are fine......don't worry.....if u realli like TOEFL (well not many ppl do) then take it for fun. I did not study at all and got a 273 with 6.0 on essay.

since u have lived in us whole of ur life, u dont have to take it (thats what i think). but yeah toefl is really simple but u dont take exams for fun!!! if u dont have to take it dont!!

if you want to be on the safe side, you should take the toefl. if you are fluent in english and since you got 700+ in sat, you should get good marks in it.
But if money is a problem, don't take it.
or if you're just lazy, don't take it.
it won't really harm you

dont take it for fun! Treat it as an easy exam but dont think that you should just waste your time at the centre cuz it costs a $110!!!!!!!!!! If somehow you s c r e w up, your parents will have a fit. So just go through the cd they give for free.
