I'm probably not going to transfer out of Bates but just in case I find during my Freshman year that I want a university setting vs. LAC I have a quick question about transferring --

Is the transfer process focused on your high school performance or college performance? Will admissions people be looking more at my college grades/classes/activities or my high school grades/classes/activites? And how important are test scores when transferring?

^^ it's tough to tell. usually if you're applying for sophmore standing, your high school grades, test scores etc. usually are weighted heavier. your college grades certainly are relevant, but without much for them to go on with regard to your college record, it seems logical your h.s. transcript and standardized test scores would be equally, if not more important.

+1. Transferring after Freshman year puts more weight on high school marks, whereas transferring after sophomore year puts more on college marks. The adcoms have more information with which to judge your potential performance at their college after sophomore year.
